CDR Todd Watkins! He was my CO at VAW-112, or 113 I can't remember lol
Was hoping to see the lav 😬
What they don't want to show you is the spy sat control they have back there.
Professional, reassuring, informative and very calm announcement indeed from the handsome pilot that has come to rescue us all. 😎🖤👍
Great pilot. No drama. Calm and reassuring as if he was explaining why he liked watching sport.
So calm and professional
Reported..click bait
Crappy Click bait
Stanley Hudson: What is wrong with you? Why did you have to phrase it like that?
qantas planes can dogfight with an f-15 and still come back alive
true lad
"WE'RE GOIN' IN!!!!!"
If flying on this flight I would have safe and secure knowing the flight deck crew is flying this aircraft professionally, and the cabin crew has done their part as well. Hats off to them all.
Last message of Quantas pilot to passengers before they all got off - "See you next time!"
A plane I was in once got struck by lightening, a very bright flash and a loud BOOM. After a few moments (when I could feel the pilot very gently waggle the controls to check them, what I would do as I am a pilot also, though just a private one) and then he got on the PA and proceeded to welcome us all to his airline, gave an estimated time of arrival, mentioned a few scenic sights on our route, wrapping up with the breakfast menu. Only then, after all that, did he oh so casually mention that "some of you may have noticed a flash of light and a bang, that was simply a static discharge and it's no big deal, happens often." THAT was a cool pilot, absolutely classic and i started laughing immediately! I of course, as a private pilot, was also cool..., telling my seatmate it was a strike and it was OK, so i came off looking pretty good but damn it was a bit alarming for sure.
Tittle just to get views, 🙄
Captain de Crespigny, first officer Matt Hicks, second officer Mark Johnson, check captain Harry Wubben, and check captain David Evans exhibited true mastery of their profession, responding to the crisis with unparalleled intelligence, experience and judgment. With no chance of following checklists and manuals, they successfully relied on all those things a machine or computer could never do: a combination of experience, judgment, instinct, observation and rules-bending. If anyone needs more proof that we need pilots in the cockpit, and not just computers, this is it. A crewless flight deck? Forget it!
That pilot is calmer then I thought he would be.
An element of click bait here I'm afraid. I'm glad it ended well.
Is this worthy of a video on UA-cam?
Love Qantas. Love Australian trained pilots. Well done to them.
I just love anything about Australia, an amazing country indeed
Sure last message announcing that everything is under control. UA-cam Scammer.
"And if you see any fire trucks on the runway, don't fret mate, it's not for us. It's just a loose wallabie."
I clicked= I'm the dummy in the end, a bit of a misleading Title indeed. But a clickbait bator this guy Jewad is no doubt, he needs to get a job...
A Gentleman and a very good pilot. The crew had multiple systems failures, they handled a very difficult situation brilliantly. They remained calm, followed all the correct procedures as laid down by Airbus, did all the right things and landed safely.
:') proud of our aussie aviation industry (my dad was also a great pilot, most conversations i overheard with ATC and other pilots were equally calm and professional)
Clickbait bullish!t. Bye-bye to this channel!
Last message from pilot to passengers, "I've used the last parachute and this is a recording".
Pilot is a badass. Thanks
Quantas: “never crashed” - Rain Man
On a flight from Grand Rapids to Chicago in a Short Islander. Halfway across Lake Michigan the pilot announced. Ladies and Gentlemen. This plane is designed to land on water…. Once. I was in my rental car driving away from O’Hare before I stopped smiling.
A very calm and reassuring pilot, it sure beats "Smoke 'em if ya got 'em, we're going down".
this is fake, qantas has never had a fatal crash since they started
Airbus A380 doesn’t have any crash record.
BZ
The calm reassurance of a professional Australian captain. Perfect.
“Black Swan”, is what Airbus calls a failure which even Airbus doesn’t know the solution for, they don’t have any specific checklists, procedures or anything particular. In this flight the pilots experienced that and I can only take inspiration from how calm and professional they were on the PA. It’s seems easy by the calmness from his voice but I’m sure they’d be sweating flying that A380 with all those failures.
Clickbait title
fricking click bate alert! you loser
So theres more dislikes than likes yet all i see are positive comments, whats going on here
Where is the Superjumbo mentioned? I see an A380
What a fucked up title for this clip. UA-cam why do you allow this sensational bullshit?
I was expecting a “See you in hell cunts.”
What a bloke!!! Well done to the Pilot for reassuring the passengers and most importantly getting the plane on the ground safely. Master of theirs crafts, have a lot of respect for all pilots
At this stage…
Here’s an idea….hit those three little dots. Then when the choices come up select ‘don’t recommend channel’… no more idiotic click bait….problem solved.
So basically this is the clickbait from the golden ages... Very nice indeed...
i was in an a380 and it had a hydraulic failure when we were taking off with the front wheel already off the ground and somehow managed to stop in time after weaving all over the place
Really? I thought there was a point of no return with an aircraft, where as they have to take off after a certain distance is travelled down the runway, they cant pull out, so i'm thinking if the front wheel was already off the ground, they would have to complete a go around, I could be wrong but thats what I thought I read about that
yeah but we wouldve probably crahsed if he didnt stop so im assuming thats why the pilot did that@@thomasr53
The most dangerous part of your journey is the drive from the airport to your hotel.
what a stud capt
An excellent pilot and crew - this wasn't moments before landing though, and it wasn't his last message to the passengers. Some time elapsed while they went through checklists, fuel dumped and dealt with a raft of ecam messages.
